![]() I'd argue this has gap has gotten further. Red has always had the edge over white in EDH even half a decade ago, mainly thanks to Blood Moon, Magus of the Moon, Wheel of Fortune-type effects, Vandalblast, and REB/Pyroblast. What are your thoughts?Įdit: I’m focusing strictly on MONO color decks. I used to point toward impulsive draw as the reason why red has better card draw, but White has been catching up and now I'm not so sure. White's boardwipes are also more powerful, and ] is yet another example of how white is able to more efficiently deal with a complicated boardstate. White also has many tutors for artifacts, enchantments, and small creatures. ![]() Yes, Red has ], but it has to rely on burn that can't hit larger creatures.Īlso, white has received powerful cards like ] and ] in recent years, and cards like ], ], ] and ] are powerful spells that increase either card draw/advantage. Ramp can be done with mana rocks in each color, and white is much better than red at removal with cards like ], ], ], and the newly printed ]. Most of these aren’t CEDH but I do play them randomly in all of my high power decks. The Nitpicking Nerds channel on YouTube got me thinking: is white finally better than red? That’s a krrik storm deck win con using necrotic ooze and random jank. ] + sacrifice outlet+ ] + payoff OR ] OR ] + fodder + outlet OR ] + sacrifice outlet. ] + ] + discard outlet or full grip for cleanup step. I mostly play golgari for high power games. What matters in identifying a cEDH list is how quickly and consistently your deck can win and protect itself from other decks winning, not what the cards are called when you do. ![]() Raw card selection isn't a great indicator of deck strength, and cEDH uses so many cards that you really hamstring yourself avoiding that much of the card pool. Razaketh, Protean Hulk, The Chain Veil, and extra turn spells I would never be surprised to see, no matter how casual the table. If you're playing Naya, Dockside and Emiel are perfectly normal things to have in your deck at casual power levels Hullbreaker Horror is a normal card to run in casual decks, and all it needs to go infinite is "some mana rocks and artifacts" which is absolutely normal. Tons of the combos you name and the ones I wrote have perfectly legitimate casual applications, though, or use cards completely at home in casual games. Hullbreaker can also generate infinite mana with one mana-positive mana rock and a free artifact. ] existing in play, but especially if its the only creature in your deck, you cast ] on your Commander, and then you play other spells. ] combos with having a life total and creatures existingĮxtra turn spells in Kinnan, Edric, Kess, Taigam, etc ] + any way to clone it, flicker it, reanimate it, etc ] / ] / ] ] ]
